my honeymoon stay at roten baeren was amazing! the breakfast was the best of our trip, and the central location made it easy to explore. the room was very comfortable, and the staff even surprised us with a chocolate bear on saint nicolas day!
the street noise at night was distracting.

The breakfast offered a delightful variety of options.
My stay was quite frustrating as the room was uncomfortably hot and lacked air conditioning. The noise from the street made it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. Additionally, the check-in process felt rushed, and the staff seemed overwhelmed with their duties.

9/10
Ope, this place was a real gem! The modern bathroom was cozy with great water pressure. Breakfast was a spread, loved those flaky croissants! Got nice and warm in our room with the heater. Just a heads up, the street can get a bit noisy at night. Took a peek at that cool old cellar too.

missingWrote a review on Oct 27clean roomgreat locationoutdated lobby
Location right in the old town offers easy access to historic sites and charming shops. The room is clean and surprisingly quiet despite the bustling surroundings.
Lobby decor feels outdated and could use a solid refresh. Pillows lack comfort, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. Checkout time is strict at 11:00 AM with no flexibility for late stay. The balcony offers little privacy as it's shared with adjacent rooms, which is a bit disappointing. Bathroom, while acceptable, could use a refurbish.

The hotel is steeped in history, which is visible in its charming architecture and elements, making the stay quite unique.
The check-in process felt unwelcoming, as the reception was just one individual managing multiple duties at the bar area.

Great location near historic sites. The old décor has a lovely charm, and the room was clean and spacious. The breakfast truly stood out, with a variety of delicious options that could make anyone return just for that. However, the lack of a minibar or coffee machine in the room was disappointing. Wi-Fi connectivity was often poor, and at times, it felt like the staff was overwhelmed, especially during breakfast when one person handled multiple duties. There weren't clear parking arrangements provided, which made our arrival somewhat tricky. Overall, while the charm of the building and breakfast quality were highlights, improvements in amenities and staff engagement would elevate the experience significantly.

I loved my stay here, especially enjoying a hearty breakfast each morning and the cozy, clean room that felt like home. The courtyard was a perfect spot to unwind with a good book, while the little garden made for a nice walk. Just a heads up, the street can get a bit noisy at night, so pack some earplugs! 😊
